Shin splints can happen mainly two ways overuse or doing something wrong. For overuse shin splints usually occurs with a sport involving a lot of running. While you overuse your legs it can occur if you're playing on uneven ground, hard surfaces, have bad shoes, running up/down hill, or increasing the intensity of your workout too quickly. For doing something wrong you could have poor running mechanics, landing on the balls of your feet, running with toes pointed outward, and running with excessive forwards/backwards lean.
There are many signs and symptoms of shin splints. Some sign and symptoms of shin splints is pain along inner part of the lower leg, tenderness/soreness of inner leg, pain on either side of shin bone, and a dull ache in the lower part of the leg. These signs/symptoms will mostly occur if the above activities are being presented.
